Engineering Program Manager

We’re seeking a highly organized, commercially aware, and client-focused Engineering Program Manager to oversee key customer accounts and manage the successful delivery of engineering programs. This role serves as the primary bridge between the client and ETS internal teams, ensuring projects move efficiently, communication remains proactive, and client expectations are consistently met.
The Engineering Program Manager combines elements of client management, program oversight, project coordination, forecasting, and business development support. This is a critical position for someone who can build trust with clients, maintain control of fast-moving projects, and drive accountability internally.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients and own the overall relationship.
- Build strong working relationships across multiple client levels, from project teams to leadership.
- Ensure clients receive timely, accurate updates regarding schedules, deliverables, risks, and project status.
- Maintain a high standard of responsiveness, professionalism, and follow-through.
- Measure and improve client satisfaction through consistent service and communication.
Program & Project Oversight:
- Manage multiple active projects and programs simultaneously across engineering workflows.
- Coordinate internal resources to ensure deliverables are completed on time and to expected quality standards.
- Maintain clear visibility of schedules, priorities, production status, and upcoming milestones.
- Forecast project flow, delivery timelines, and billing readiness.
- Understand client drivers such as timing of deliverables, revenue recognition, and invoicing milestones.
Scope Management:
- Define project scope clearly with clients and internal teams before execution begins.
- Monitor projects for scope creep and ensure changes are identified, documented, and properly managed.
- Understand ETS service offerings sufficiently to recommend solutions aligned with client needs.
- Support preparation of scopes of work and commercial discussions where required.
Risk Management:
- Identify risks that could impact schedules, budgets, client satisfaction, or successful execution.
- Escalate issues early and coordinate solutions before problems affect delivery.
- Maintain awareness of production bottlenecks, permitting delays, customer dependencies, and other workflow constraints.
- Help clients understand impacts and recovery options when schedules shift.
Internal Coordination & Accountability:
- Work closely with engineering, inspections, construction, finance, and support teams.
- Ensure internal stakeholders understand client priorities and required deadlines.
- Drive consistent internal updates and accountability for commitments made to clients.
- Improve communication flow between departments involved in project execution.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain organized records of project status, schedules, action items, and client communications.
- Produce recurring status reports, trackers, forecasts, and workload summaries.
- Ensure data integrity across internal workflow and project management systems.
Training & Team Development:
- Assist in onboarding and training Project Coordinators and other support staff.
- Help standardize new job setup processes and internal workflows.
- Share best practices that improve efficiency, communication, and service consistency.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in program management, project management, client management, operations, or similar roles.
- Experience working in telecommunications, engineering services, construction, infrastructure, or another deadline-driven service environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple active projects, programs, or client accounts simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing communication.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track details, priorities, and deadlines across multiple workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and reporting tools.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and coordinate internal resources.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to attend client meetings or industry events when required.
Preferred Background
- Experience in wireless infrastructure, tower engineering, A&E, inspections, or related sectors.
- Understanding of engineering deliverables, project workflows, and schedule dependencies.
- Experience with forecasting, invoicing milestones, utilization tracking, or operational reporting.
- Experience using CRM, ERP, project management, or workflow tracking systems.
- Prior responsibility for onboarding, mentoring, or training coordinators or junior staff.
- Exposure to scope development, change orders, or commercial account growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
